Friends,
Czech Television has an online stream of Collegium 1704 performing Missa Votiva at the Saint Wenceslas Music Festival in Opava last October.

It's a great concert and a nice production and can be seen here:

There's an interview with the director Vaclav Luks before the concert and although I don't understand czech well I think he mentions a fan club and a forum on the internet. Is he referring to our website? Maybe our czech members can verify this and also if he calls Zelenka a superstar of classical music! Which he of course is...:)

Hello Johannes,

I was lucky to watch these concerts (the other two compositions by J.S.Bach were also excellent). What Vaclav Luks mentions is that his Collegium 1704 actually commemorates year 1704 as the actual Zelenka entrance to the European scene. According to what he says Zelenka is a real superstar of a late baroque era. He also mentions that many still undiscovered works are waiting in Dresden Archive. He is indeed a Zelenka devotee. With his enthusiasm we may expect I hope some new and exciting recordings in the future.

I agree with his enthusiasm for Zelenka, but not with some of the tempos he used in this performance and on CD. I think Bernius will have done a better job, and I eagerly await the release of his Missa Votiva CD.
