Default Damian Thompson refers to Zelenka again (briefly) in the Spectator online

    Hello people,

This was actually from a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd post it.

    http://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/10/grave-goods/

He includes Zelenka in an elite list of music that he'd possess after culling his huge music collection: "...there’s room for mavericks touched by genius"

And here's that famous querky-impassioned article he wrote a long while back (re-posted in 2013): http://www.spectator.co.uk/2013/07/w...poser-zelenka/

Handel wrote over 100 symphonies & his later 'London' symphonies are among the best examples of early classical symphonies before Mozart & Beethoven took the form to new heights.
