This was an excellent and well-attended concert in the parish church of Rothwell (pron. Rowell), Northants, described by Sir Adrian Boult as having the finest acoustic in the country, and also boasting one of the longest naves for a church of its size in England.

Fiori Musicali, under Penelope Rapson, performed an outstanding set of pieces in an evening entirely dedicated to Zelenka. At greater leisure I shall post longer comments on each, but suffice to say that James Bowman's rendition of Lamentation II for Holy Thursday was quite exceptional. Other items included the Miserere and the Requiem in Cm.
