Default Harmonia Mundi recording of ZWV108

I wonder if anyone has the following recording on CD:

ZWV 108 Deutsche Harmonia Mundi. Cat. No. GD 77177. CD issued: 1990?. Orchestra: Basler Madrigalisten Orchester der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Fritz Naf. Soloists: Rosemarie Hoffmann (S), René Jacobs (A).

I have no cover image of this CD in the database, and I don't know what else is on the CD. I don't know what year was the Magnificat was recorded, or when the CD was actually released. Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance. /Alistair

I don't have the disc, but it appears this was originally released by DHM in 1990 under the title Baroque Christmas Music - Natus est Jesus
    (see: http://www.ciao.se/Baroque_Christmas_Music__359597 ),
then rereleased by RCA in 1995 as Baroque Yuletide.

    Try these links also:

It also appears that ZWV 108 is the only Zelenka work on these discs. It has really become one of his best recorded vocal works.

I have the disc. Do you still need details or a scan of the cover? I note your original post was in 2007 (I joined the Zelenka Forum only relatively recently).

Hi. Yes, I need all possible details, and also scan(s). Nobody else has replied in the affirmative, so I would be very grateful!

    Best wishes. /Alistair

    Default Magnificat ZWV 108

    Alistair,

I shall try to send scans of the cover and back, but meanwhile the details are:

CD title: Natus est Jesus - Weihnachtliche Musik des Barock (Baroque Christmas Music)

I got it when EMI owned Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, so the catalogue details are:

EMI / Deutsche Harmonia Mundi - CDC 7 49139 2 (it is part of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis series of discs)

    Recorded 13-15 July 1986 (tracks 1 - 3) & 10-11 January 1987 (tracks 4 - 12)

    1. Zelenka: Magnificat
    2. Carissimi: Magnificat
    3. Schutz: Meine Seele erhebt den Herren SWV 426

Rosemarie Hoffmann (soprano), Rene Jacobs (alto), Basler Madrigalisten, Orchester der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, conductor: Fritz Naf (with an umlaut on the "a")

    4. Philipp Friedrich Boddecker: Natus est Jesus
    5. Giovanni Battista Bassani: Nascere, nascere, dive puellule
    6. Marco da Gagliano: Pastor, levate su
    7. Bonifazio Graziani: Gaudia, pastores
    8. Giuseppe Giamberti: O belle lagrimette
    9. Domenico Mazzocchi: Giunte alla cuna
    10. Ludovico Viadana: Quem vidistis pastores
    11. Viadana: O gloriosa Domina
    12. Viadana: Decantabat populus Israel

Rene Jacobs (alto), Gottfried Bach (organ), Konrad Junghanel (lute), Roel Dieltens (cello).

    Default Magnificat

Just to be clear, there is no ZWV number on the disc, but the Magnificat is dated 1725.
