View Full Version : Thinking of Zelenka on Christmas Eve.

Depending on the source you choose to believe, Jan Dismas Zelenka died somewhere between Dec 22-24 1745. On this Christmas Eve my thoughts are with this remarkable man. I have a lot of favourite composers, Josquin, White, Parsons, Manchicourt, Morales, Guerrero, Lobo A, Weiss, Biber, Bruhns and the list goes on and on. But nobody has ever affected me the way that our beloved Zelenka has. On this Christmas Eve my thoughts are with him (I consider this to be the aniversary of his death) and with my family which I consider him a part of.

Our friend Tobiashume is right. I also always think of Zelenka on Christmas Eve. Some of his music perfectly adds to the special atmosphere of Christmas, especially his beautiful "Circumcision Mass".
