Salve Regina ZWV 204

    Lovely recording (modern day premiere?) of this jewel, which Zelenka later reworked into the Salve Regina (ZWV 135). ZWV 204 is still listed as “Doubtful” in the Zelenka work list but as Jan Stockigt states in her database this needs to be reconsidered:

    Zelenka was then also seen by Phoebus,

    who rightly praised him as follows:

    You can for the Glory of God, delight the Soul,

    and movingly compose Church music,

    which is so touching, that the devotional Breast

    already experiences the Foretaste of Pleasures of Heavens;

    Both here on Earth and on the stage of the Stars.
