  • Perhaps of interest for this forum, I just came across this reference to a further (1994) recording of the sonatas ZWV 181, all played with strings only without oboes and bassoon: http://www.medieval.org/emfaq/cds/pcc00274.htm

I have a couple of the other Bona Nova discs issued by this period instrument ensemble and they are (were?) quite a nice little group (Schmelzer and Pachelbel) despite never quite being the last word on historically informed performance practice. They also issued a few other discs on the Arta label a few years ago, from memory, including a lovely disc of string quintets by Myslivecek. However, I had never before come across this recording. I assume it is no longer available. It's not included in the jdzelenka.net discography either or on the website of the very reliable http://www.cdmusic.cz

I shall let everyone know if I am able to track down where to buy it.
